BECKIE'S STORY SO FAR...
Beckie holds happy memories of baking as a child with her Mum and Grandma. Her fondest memories are sneakily eating the leftover cake mix off the spoon, yum!
Beckie's first experience of cake decorating was when she was in school completing her GCSE Food Technology Project. Beckie had chosen to make a Barbie doll cake, this was when she caught the cake bug. Beckie fell in love with making and decorating cakes so much that she continued the food technology course as part of her As and A level, within her A level final project Beckie made her first wedding cake - the first of many!
Baking cakes remained a hobby for Beckie as she took on the adventure of university, constantly baking cakes and sweet treats for family and friends birthdays and the occasional wedding cake. Beckie's love for baking continued to grow.
The decision was made to go to university to study Primary Education and become a teacher, with baking and cakes put on the back burner. One evening while enjoying chips with a friend, Beckie jokingly commented about starting a business and the seed was planted. Beckie left University as a qualified primary school teacher expecting the road ahead to be teaching but her heart and passion for baking grew. Beckie swapped the national curriculum for a whisk. Lovelies Delights was whipped up and the baking commenced.
Since the journey began Beckie has studied and completed level one, level two and level three of cake decorating, leaving college with distinction. She was delighted to be a finalist in the 2015 National cupcake championship with her Ginger Lemonade Cupcake.
Since then Beckie has gone on to build Lovelies Delights, growing the cake business and opening her first boutique eatery in Mold.
